How Cris Angel Passes Through Glass

This is how Cris Angel passes through glass.

hmm fate or luck

Now back at home after getting MC yesterday for Fever 38.8'c. Going back camp tonite. IT was the first time I had to report sick. I usually self-medicate for colds and headaches but a fever is not an illness to self-medicate. I delayed eating my medicine when I got home and my fever peaked at 39.1!! Now my temperature is 37.0'c now back to dcdeployment tmr.. I think I'll take thing easy, wouldnt want to report sick again. Haha now I wont get to keep a clean sheet of not reporting sick, well at least I earned 2 days MC cos I told the MO I live quite a distance away from camp when he wanted to give me 1 day MC.

Of Mechanical and Physical wear and tear...

How easy is the wear and tear of our 5-ton MAN Trucks and Landrovers?? Out of 5 Man Trucks my unit has, 1 is at the maintainence base undergoing repairs and 1 has recently attained VOR (Vehicle On Repair) status.. The problem is they seem to suddenly have problems. We did maintainence on one tonner and washed it only for it to have problems starting the next day!! We have only 1 working landrover as of friday. Another spectacularly overheated due to mechanical problems on its way back to the MT line..

Now we have stop movement of vehicles for Self-practice until replacement vehicles come, or the vehicles are repaired.. it was only last week that we could only do self-practice on alternate days to reduce normal wear and tear..

Soon OC will pump up the intensity of training leading up to the next Ops, starting by deployment tommorrow, which is suppossed to be my off.. nvm at least i had my off on fri..

Helium Guest: People that inspire us to pursue our goals

By Silencedreamer

In our lives, whether we realise it or not, there will be times when we find ourselves trying very hard to reach our goals, and yet failed to do so. These are the times when someone close to you will reach out for you, and encourage you not to give up. They will be the ones who will inspire you to continue pursuing your goals.

Helium Guest: What difference do teachers make?

By Silencedreamer

Teachers can make a lot of differences in charting the route of their students' lives. Their words, their actions, all have great impacts on students' mentalities and future course of actions in almost every decision that they make. For most of us, we spend 5 days out of 7 in school, and we spend at least half the day in school, with our teachers around us. What they say about you, and how they act towards you, will surely affect how we feel about ourselves, and how we behave in the future.

Helium Guest: Appreciation of a privileged life

By Silencedreamer

In this modern society, a lot of us compare ourselves with others who have more than we do. More in terms of money, luxuries etc. Things that we chase after for a perceived better quality of life. However, we have forgotten that even without such luxuries, we are already leading a privileged life. How so?

Helium Guest: What history means to me

By Silencedreamer

History, to me, does not just concern the past. It can affect the present and the future. Learning from past historical events is not just about knowing the dates, and memorising what happened. There is so much more to history than what most people believe it to be.

Affiliate Marketing Training – Hello! …To SIX Vacations a Year!

By Bill Schnarr

So you’ve decided to make the jump to being a fulltime affiliate marketing expert. Congratulations! Welcome to a new dot-com industry where the profits and rewards can go as high as you’re willing to take them. You know it’s important for you to receive the proper affiliate marketing training before you start your career, and maybe you’ve already signed on to a great program such as James Martell’s downloadable home study course.

But what can you expect from your new life as a successful affiliate marketer?

James Martell has been a successful affiliate marketing expert for years. He recently decided to put his skills and experience on the cutting edge of this exciting new industry to work for you, by putting out his very own downloadable training course for prospective affiliate marketers.

Now it’s easy to take a 6-12 month course from the comfort and privacy of your own home computer, and earn money while doing it.

In his own words, James recently described his experiences as a successful affiliate marketer.

“Without question, the best thing is my ability to set my own schedule,” says Martell. “I literally get up when I want to, I work on the business when I want to, I go for lunch when I am hungry, I take many breaks throughout the week, I drive my dream car when I feel like it, which is a lot, and I take at least one good break, something I call a ‘breakcation’ at least every 4-6 weeks.”

But in addition to the freedom and laid back atmosphere his new life has taken, Martell loves to travel more than anything else. Surprisingly, affiliate marketing has also facilitated his love of the open road as well.

By mixing business and pleasure, Martell has found a way to have the best of both worlds. But it wasn’t always like that. In fact, Martell confessed that the very meaning of the word vacation has changed for him over the years.

“Prior to enjoying the success I have had with affiliate marketing and publishing specialty shopping sites, my idea of a vacation was a camping trip or a road trip to my parents house for a weekend,” Martell says. “Now, I think nothing of heading to the airport for an extended weekend in Las Vegas, or taking my wife to Maui for 10 days which I have down twice in the last couple years.

“Recently, I just returned from an 18 day adventure with my wife and four kids, Adam (18), Justin (16), Shelby (14) and Victoria (9) to Disneyworld Florida and then on to a 10 day Caribbean Cruise with stops in many exotic ports of call.”

Making his trips even more impressive is the fact that Martell doesn’t even have to stop working when he’s away from home.

He can access his online business ventures from anywhere in the world, providing he has an Internet access (which he did on his Caribbean cruise). That means no unforeseen disasters when he returns from a long trip, and definitely no problems with work building up while he’s gone.

“The great thing about this type of business is all I need is a computer with an Internet connection,” says Martell. “So I can check my email and sales reports. I can find Internet cafes on cruise ships and in all the exotic places I have traveled.”

These “Exotic places” Martell is referring to include a recent trip the Caribbean, and another to the Affiliate Force marketing conference in the Bahamas, and several cruises, including a New York to Halifax cruise for the Affiliate Summit 2004.

But where else has the mixing of work and pleasure taken this self professed man of the road?

“Two trips to Maui, both spectacular,” says Martell. “Many trips to Las Vegas. Three trips to Santa Barbara, one during a three week road trip with the wife and kids, with stops in Seattle, the rugged Oregon Coast, San Francisco to see the sites and ride the cables cars, to Disneyland to visit with the mouse for a week, MGM Studios, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas and all points in between.”

Hard to believe that affiliate marketing training and some hard work has paid off so well for James Martell. He is a living example of exactly why you need the proper training yourself before you get started on your with affiliate marketing.

With all this talk of travel and success and earning potentials that are through the roof, it may be interesting to hear why the real reason James Martell loves his job so much.

“Freedom,” says Martell. “The money's great, but no matter how much you make, affiliate marketing still provides challenges. What really fires me up is the freedom that this type of business provides. The freedom to carve my own path, the freedom to make as much as you can, the freedom of working on a business you love. Freedom.”

Working at Home – It’s Just Easier That Way

By Bill Schnarr

We’ve all been stretched to our limits at one time or another, whether our jobs take us to the factory, the office, and even those who work at home. Today’s working parents are under more pressure than ever to work longer, earn more money, and provide a stable environment for their children. At the same time, those same activities that are supposed to be enjoyable – spending time with family, taking the kids to soccer practice, and remembering to phone Aunt Martha on her birthday can easily become part of a hectic, stressful work week that leaves you exhausted and desperate for a break.

With all the stress and hassle of today’s modern life, it’s no wonder that more and more people are turning to alternative sources to generate income and ease the burden of day to day living. For many of those people, working at home on their computers for a few hours a week has become that stress relieving second income. And these people are beginning to see that a home based business can be an alternative to a soul-sucking job that leaves you exhausted and praying for the weekend.

There are a lot of good reasons why you should consider a home based business if you are searching for a way to improve the quality of your life. For example, working at home provides you with the ability to schedule your work around the important things that come up in everyday life, as opposed to waiting for a day off to take the kids to the dentist or missing a birthday dinner because you were stuck in traffic.

In fact, missing anything because of traffic would be a thing of the past, unless you count the line ups at the supermarket or the Doctor’s office. And here’s a little tip: there are no line ups at the supermarket when everyone is at work. It would just be you and a couple little old ladies in a foot race for the two bored cashiers waiting to serve you. Take my advice – a good hip check goes a long way to eliminating the competition, if you catch my drift.
But there are some really important things to consider if you are going to look for a way to work at home and make money on a home based business. For one thing, something like an internet based business can lead to all kinds of goodies. Things like residual incomes and streaming money. Royalties! Yes, your home based internet business will make money for you even while you’re sleeping in or spending the weekend on a romantic getaway with your significant other. Does your job at the toothpaste factory pay you to sleep? (Don’t answer that!)

Working at home on computer can afford you other luxuries as well. You may not have realized this, but an internet based business can be accessed and maintained from anywhere in the world, as long as you have a reliable internet connection and access to your email accounts. That means that you can spend an hour or two on your computer in the morning taking care of loose ends while your family prepares for a day at the beach…in Mexico!

You can work from your time share condo in Florida, your parent’s house in Wisconsin, or even that little two bedroom tree house in the Amazon Rain Forest you’ve always dreamed about…providing you can convince the local monkeys to provide you with some form of internet service.

The opportunity for additional income and freedom from the grind of daily living is sitting in your living room. Working at home is a trend being picked up by men and women every day; professionals, college students, and retirees are all working from home on computers and making money to improve their lives.

If your still considering it, no worries. Hopefully this article will give you something to think about next time your stuck in traffic, sucking on petrol fumes and wishing that monkeys were serving you Pina Colada’s in your little grass hut out in the middle of nowhere.

Helium: Thoughs on Spider-man

Out of all the comic super heroes out there, Spider-man stands out as one of the most human of the superheroes. Although i do not follow the comic closely, i have watched the animated series that was produced in the 90s. The recent movie series have followed closely the transition of Peter Parker as he becomes our friendly neighbourhood spider-man.

AMI?

After much debate in the Forum pages of the Strait Times on how hospital staff should be more sensitive to the relative of love ones of the patients regarding the conditions of their patients i saw 1st hand how medical professionals may unintentionally behave in such manner.

My team member's father recently passed away, so my OC, who is a Doctor, and some of my friends paid him a visit to convey our condolences.

We all are Medics by vocation, but i dropped my jaw when my OC used the term"A.M.I." (Acute Myocardial Infarction) to describe the cause of death. Well sure enough he soon excused himself citing sore thumb, or rather being a sore thumb.

for those who do not know what an Acute Myocardial Infarction is, it is a severe heart attack.

Runaway Love

I really love it when musicians write/sing/produce songs that reflects on society. This song details the hardship of young girls living in unfavourable conditions and how running away seems to be an option of escape but at the end the message is not to run away and hopefully everything gonna be alright. Here is one gem of a song..

Runaway Love; Ludacris Feat. Mary J. Blige

Try the link, http://www.musicvideocodes.info/song_39117_Ludacris-Runaway_Love.html if you have problems watching the video.

For those who cant catch the lyrics:

[Hook - Mary J. Blige]
Runaway love [x8]

[Verse 1 - Ludacris]
Now little Lisa is only 9 years old
She's trying to figure out why the world is so cold
Why she's all all alone and they never met her family
Mama's always gone and she never met her daddy
Part of her is missing and nobody will listening
Mama is on drugs getting ***** up in the kitchen
Bringing home men at different hours of the night
Starting with some laughs -- usually ending in a fight
Sneak into her room while her mama's knocked out
Trying to have his way and little Lisa says 'ouch'
She tries to resist but then all he does is beat her
Tries to tell her mom but her mama don't believe her
Lisa is stuck up in the world on her own
Forced to think that hell is a place called home
Nothing else to do but get some clothes and pack
She says she's 'bout to run away and never come back

[Hook - Mary J. Blige]
Runaway love [x8]

[Verse 2 - Ludacris]
Little Nicole is only 10 years old
She's steady trying to figure why the world is so cold
Why she's not pretty and nobody seems to like her
Alcoholic step-dad always wanna strike her
Yells and abuses, leaves her with some bruises
Teachers ask questions she making up excuses
Bleeding on the inside, crying on the out
It's only one girl really knows what she about
Her name is lil Stacy and they become friends
Promise that they always be tight 'til the end
Until one day lil Stacy gets shot
A drive by bullet went stray up on her block
Now Nicole stuck up in the world on her own
Forced to think that hell is a place called home
Nothing else to do but get some clothes and pack
She says she's 'bout to run away and never come back.

[Hook - Mary J. Blige]
Runaway love [x8]

[Verse 3 - Ludacris]
Little Erica is eleven years old
She's steady trying to figure why the world is so cold
So she pops x to get rid of all the pain
'Cause she's having sex with a boy who's sixteen
Emotions run deep and she thinks she's in love
So there's no protection he's using no glove
Never thinking 'bout the consequences of her actions
Living for today and not tomorrow's satisfaction
The days go by and her belly gets big
The father bails out he ain't ready for a kid
Knowing her mama will blow it all outta proportion
Plus she lives poor so no money for abortion
Erica is stuck up in the world on her own
Forced to think that hell is a place called home
Nothing else to do but get her clothes and pack
She say she's about to run away and never come back.

[Mary J. Blige]
Run away Run away love
Don't keep on runnin'
Run away Run away [2x]
Runnin' [4x]
Don't keep on running away [2x]
I know how you feel, I've been there
I was runnin' away too
I will run away with you [2x]
Runaway Runaway Love
Don't keep running away
I'll run away with you, if you want me too

[Final verse - Ludacris]
Yea, I can only image what you're going through ladies,
Sometimes I feel like running away myself,
So do me a favor right now and close your eyes,
And picture us running away together,
when we come back everything is gonna be okay,
Open your eyes

It seems that luck is not on our platoon side.. Our planned Platoon outing that was supposed to be earlier today, was cancelled earlier in the week due to the comming CDF visit.. it seems that we are a saikang/wayang platoon, just in place to do miscellenous work and put up displays and parades. Well life goes on, at least we have a GOOD Friday to enjoy.

Webmasters: Getting To The Top Of Google (And other Search Engines) Just Got Easier

James Martell, The Undisputed Natural Search Expert, Shows Students How To Climb The Elusive Search Engine Ladder, Becoming More Visible To Target Audiences And Increasing Revenues

Webmasters from every corner of the worldwide web are learning how to catapult their sites to the top of Google and other search engines, applying the latest techniques used by natural search expert James Martell and detailed in his "2006" Affiliate Marketer’s Handbook (THIRD EDITION).

A true compass for navigating any website to new heights of online success, Martell’s handbook is accomplishing what no other like handbook or guide has been able to do.

This “refreshed” edition dives headfirst into the sea of changes that have recently taken place at Google and other search engines and provides the most up-to-date information needed to ensure Webmasters can guide their websites to the top - and keep them there.

As the natural search expert, Martell has created quite a following – both online and off. His commitment to providing downloadable home study guides that leave no stone unturned sets him apart from other successful affiliate marketers and speaks to sell-out crowds at industry events and at his popular Affiliate Marketers BootCamp (http://www.affiliate-marketers-bootcamp.com/).

For years, Martell has taught countless students the finer (and too-often overlooked) tips and techniques for gaining free traffic through natural search at Google. And, because Google has recently undergone major changes, Martell stepped back up to the plate and swung again, this time delivering an out-of-the-park homerun with his "2006" Affiliate Marketers Handbook (THIRD EDITION).

And as customers flock to the net in record numbers, shopping online more than ever before, positioning your website at the top is absolutely paramount to your online success.
Rest assured, if you’re not applying Martell’s latest techniques, your competition will, catapulting their website over yours and to the top where online shoppers will be directed to make their purchases.

As a Webmaster in the know, you undoubtedly realize how rare "third edition" e-books are. And, you probably already know that Martell is uniquely committed to his student’s success and since the release of his first edition, has provided free updates with every search engine change to students through an “Updates” page on his website.

The truth is that these latest search engine changes prompted something more.
Realizing this, Martell recently spent three months restructuring and updating the information in his already in-demand handbook, expertly articulating everything now needed to set your website apart from a growing sea of look-alikes, and maintain (and grow) your affiliate marketing income.

Given that major players such asAmerican Express, Apple, Wal-Mart, and National Geographic now recognize the benefits of affiliate partnerships and are spending their time and dollars on this pay-for-performance advertising, the timing for the release of this important information couldn’t be better.

The bottom-line is this: These big businesses are paying for results and Martell shows you how to fine-tune your websites to ensure you deliver the results they want, with every visitor to your website.

Earning Extra Income With Affiliate Marketing – Having Your Cake and Eating it Too!

By Bill Schnarr

Affiliate marketing is the single fastest growth industry on the Internet. Yet many people go into it without a solid recipe for success. Indeed, many look to earn extra income with affiliate marketing with no real plan, and that can severely hamper their efforts at becoming successful at it.

Make no mistake, although affiliate marketing can be an easy and fun way to earn additional income, it is work, and just like any other job, requires effort, perseverance, and above all, a clear line of sight from start to finish line.

Things like setting up your home office properly, getting some know-how, setting realistic goals, making connections, and investing in your business will not only ensure that you have a leg-up on your competition, but it will also ensure you are firmly standing head and shoulders above them.

Setting Up Your Home Base
Perhaps the most important first step you can take to becoming a professional affiliate marketer is to set up your home base – that little home office you’ve always dreamed about!

There are many good articles on the internet about ergonomic design, and with good reason. Anyone who is going to be spending a large amount of time on their computers needs a space that promotes good posture, positive environments, and takes care of safety issues revolving around the office workspace.

The best place to start might be to head down to your local Home Depot and touch base with a professional sales representative. They are trained to show you how to set up a first-rate ergonomic office while saving you some serious cash.
Ergonomics is the science behind preventing office workplace injuries, and office designers now make tables, chairs, and desktop accessories that reduce stress on your back, limbs, wrists, and tendons, and reduce stress injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome which can occur from long hours of doing small repetitive tasks.

You’ll want to start with an ergonomically designed desk that puts everything within easy reach, a good computer with a screen that won’t hurt your eyes, non-glaring lamps placed far enough away that your eyes won’t be soaking in light while you are trying to work on the computer screen, and a chair that is comfortable and promotes circulation to your legs and rest of your body.

Of course, having the greatest home office in the world won’t matter if you don’t take the next step to becoming a successful affiliate marketer: getting some good, professional training.
Learning the Trade

Nobody goes onto a worksite cold. You can’t walk into a restaurant and expect to become the head chef just because you dressed like one that morning. And no construction company in the world is going to put you in charge just because you want the extra money but lack any real training.

The trick, then, is getting some professional training and learning how to become a professional affiliate marketer.

The first step in this road to success is to find a professional affiliate marketer and see what they can do to help you get on your feet and get moving. Thankfully, there are a few affiliate marketing pros out there who supplement their income by fulfilling another dream for many of them: being able to teach their trade to other enthusiastic marketers and passing their collective knowledge on to others.

In fact, simply typing “Affiliate Marketing Training” (in quotation marks) into www.yahoo.com, www.google.com or some other search engine will find dozens and dozens of sites promoting quality affiliate marketing conferences that you can attend.

One of affiliate marketing’s brightest stars and biggest success stories is James Martell, and chances are pretty good that if you’ve looked into affiliate marketing at all you’ve seen his name pop up more than once. His downloadable home-study course and twice monthly audio newsletter for students of his program make him the good place to start looking for a great course and learning the inner workings of affiliate marketing.

Become a student of the business. Start by setting some realistic income goals and working to achieve them.

Setting Reachable Goals
One problem with some affiliate marketers is that many tend to overshoot both their skills and their plans by setting unrealistic income goals and becoming disenchanted when they are unable to attain them.

Certainly a goal of $5,000 a month is attainable, but the first time affiliate marketer is most likely not going to make that kind of money when they step into the ring for the first time.
Make no mistake; $5,000 dollars a month is a goal that can be achieved through affiliate marketing, but beginners should look for something more modest. Start small. Start with, “I’m going to earn an extra $50-$100 a day, by learning how to create my own great looking websites, that get free traffic from the search engines, by taking the time to learn how to do it, from someone who already does the same thing.”

As an income goal, it’s certainly achievable, and you would be doing yourself a favour by setting aside the extra time you will need to learn how to do things right, the first time. Like any skill, it takes time and experience before you really get good at what you are doing.

Set goals and get used to setting them often. Set up daily goals for little things. Set up weekly and monthly goals to work toward even larger goals. Get used to writing your wants and needs on paper, and then actively working toward those goals. You’ll be glad you did, and you’ll be amazed at how much something as simple as a “to do” list can help you focus your energy and become better at your craft.

There’s a great book out about goal setting called “Goals: Setting and Achieving Them on Schedule” by Zig Ziglar. Take a look at it if you feel you could use some extra help in this department. In fact, set a goal to purchase the book and read it if you have to!
Another important goal for you to set: if you are really looking to augment your earnings with affiliate programs, or plan on becoming a full-time marketer, you have to get out there and make connections.

Making Connections to Your Future
By all accounts, the professional affiliate marketing community is a tight-knit group of people who are constantly in contact with one another.

There is a large amount of information sharing, helping one another as a support group, and a general belief that by pitching in and helping out everyone can be successful in their new role as an affiliate marketer and learn from each others mistakes.

It would be extremely shallow to suggest getting out there and making friends simply to help your business along, and people tend to not look kindly upon those who do (and we all know someone like that, don’t we?). Instead, get out there and introduce yourself. Start by seeing where you can help others with their business, and in return people will be more inclined to help you when you need it.

Get out there and enjoy yourself, and get to know these people personally. You won’t only be better off from a business standpoint, but your life will be far richer for making good friends who can relate to the trials and tribulations of your business woes and successes.

Just being able to relate to like-minded people will relieve tons of work stress. You will always be able to discuss your new career and problems you are facing with people who understand what you’re talking bout and don’t simply see your job as “foolin’ around on the ‘puter”.

Of course, they’ll have no choice but to take you a little more seriously when you invest a little money and a lot of effort in your own affiliate marketing business and really make your image shine.

Investing in Your Business is Believing in Yourself!
It’s a well known truism that states, “It takes money to make money.” These words couldn’t be truer in the world of affiliate marketing.

Although affiliate marketing is relatively cheap to set up as a home business, there are still some costs involved in getting up and running smoothly. Things like home office accessories (remember that trip to Home Depot?) Can set you back large sums of money depending on how far you are willing to go at once.

There are also costs involved within the industry itself. For example, finding affordable web space ($8-$15 per month) and registering your own domain names ($10-15 per year) does add up.

You will also need to look at web site template options if you hope to save time by having your websites “pre-planned”. Low-cost website templates, such as those found at www.affiliate-marketing-templates.com can greatly affect the way others view your site. Is it professional? Is it clean? A good web development company selling FrontPage website templates will be able to accomplish all of this and more.

You are also going to want to invest both time and effort into setting yourself up with quality content. Writing for the web is a skill that takes practice and patience, like any other, and must be clean and easy to read while still fulfilling the needs of your affiliate site.
You can always go out and find professional writers to do this for you, but remember that they can be costly and deserve to be well-paid for their services. After all, they are going to make or break your web site!

Investing in your affiliate marketing business is more than just covering costs, though. It is really about you stepping up to the plate and making a commitment to become a success. It is an investment in your own success, as well as an investment in your future.
Hopefully, this article has given you some ideas about the direction you need to take in order to earn extra income as a successful affiliate marketer. Remember that it takes time to become succeed at anything. Rome wasn’t built in a day. You’re affiliate marketing business isn’t going to be built in a day either.

Just keep at it, and before long you’ll have people coming to you for advice on how to get started.

Power Struggle

The arrival of a new face among the upper echleons has clearly shown where the lines of command splits: The Officers , The New Birds , The Veterans

Each seem to have their own view on how matters of the company should be run. But will familarity breed contempt or will having too many changes too fast cause a downfall?

But for now the spartans will breathe easy that it is the familiar is in charge of them and both are agreeable to the ways practised...

Cruising at 55kmh

Finally, i got to drive on Monday. After so long since passing out from Driver course finally got to do orientation driving on the MAN truck. Felt the cool breeze of wind blowing in my hair, through the air-con vents, of course.. hehe. It was a good experience and fun, especially making a right turn at a T-junction at about 30kmh!
Now for the next milestone, 1000km mark! So far i got about 456km under my belt..

ZOO lander

Hah went to the zoo today with my 101 BPGHS '99 Classmates today. Been a while since i last saw them. We reminised the times we were young and how long it has been since we wore the white of our school unform. Today's weather was hot and dry. Not good for my already tanned face and arms... Had free tickets, or rather heavily discounted tickets. My photobug instinct was dulled, perhaps due to the weather. I took around ten pics... When I go out with her next time, i'll let her do the shooting... having slight headache , maybe its the heat... Tomorow i'll be back in camp, my 2nd consecutive Sunday in camp...

Nevermind that, have a look at this
A Majestic White Tiger

The weather is getting to hot, time for a dip...

Too tired to move it, move it

Seeking shelter.

The weather is a turn off for them...

I'll let you decide what to think of this...

CDF COC

Finally back from Chief of Defence Force Change of Command Parade.... After 2 weeks of extreme heat and an enhanced tan... My biceps are extra sore, perhaps due to Tue's PT and marching with SAR21..

Being a SAF DAY veteran, marching in a major parade has somewhat lost its novelty. Maybe its because of the lack of appreciation i feel compared to last year and that the next major milestone is not that enticing. I am waiting with bated breath. I'm sure that ISM view us with high regard along with CO, but what about CMC and OC... Us Spartans.. Now its back to normal training.

I'll do as ordered to the best that i can, with no complains, but ask me how i feel at the end, don't expect high morale.

Being Outrightly Sian is selfish if you are working collectively as a team, as other may feel the same as you but are putting in more effort than you.

Helium: Why advanced first aid education in the military is essential

I am a medic with Level1 paramedic certificate that was part of my Basic Medic Course during my National Service (conscription) in the army. During our training we learn the basics of being a paramedic. Of course, among us some were better and others were nonchalant with the training. However i cannot stress the importance of basic first aid knowledge.

12th Spartans

Morale amongst us spartans are low. Despite being tasked with upholding the image of our glorious formation, we feel increasingly under appreciated by our Commander Instead of being lavished with welfare to maintain our form ahead of the glorious parade on the 23Th of march, the platoon has been burdened with muscle wearing exercises and runs. This trooper feels the pain. His comrades feel the pain. The platoon is stretched. Tension and depression is rife.

Our nobles, having just returned from their comissioning, are dreading it. What was supposed to be a happy nad joyous homecomming has turned sour. Without a welcome beffitting of such noble they have been put to work. The horsemen whom have returned from their basic training have yet to practice their skills. The inactivity will surely degrade their knowledge. Alas the horsemen too, have not had their share off time away from base.

As for me, i hope my horsemanship skills have not abandoned me like how my commander has betrayed me. My mind and body will continue putting up with these atrocities but alas my heart may give way.

Medic? Driver? Contingent? Decorator?

HUA!

Since the 1st day i got posted to my unit, i done many different things that may or may not fall into the job scope classified under the vocation: "Combat Medic". i can proudly say that i have been blessed enough to be have been bestowed upon probably the 2 most useful skills that is relevant to post-ORD life: Driving and Basic 1st aid (although its been a long since i've touch any real medical stuff)
Post-ORD life would not entail me bashing through a jungle, securing a location, storm through a room and walk long distances to a target. At least i can drive a class3/4 vehicle, although only its only a Landrover and a 5 ton MAN truck (and the 3 Ton Fiat Iveco if i come across any). In addition i can treat physical injuries, well as long its not a heart attack victim, i'll ask for Aspirin, i doubt people carry around GTM unless they know what's it for.

Sai Kang warrior!
Gonna march for CDF COC parade. my 3rd major parade so far. been in SAF Day parade, CMC COC last year. this does not count any CO parades cos no march past required...
interior decorator. yes been assigned to decorate Spec Mess before for CNY, cohesion day etc And many miscellaneous odd jobs...

My 1st Helium Article: Ulterior Motive

There once lived a frog, with no hair. Then again, frogs have no hair to start with. But there was this one frog who dreamt of; one day, being able to let his hair fly in the wind. This frog was very determined to fulfill his dream. In fact he was so obsessed about it that he didn't care about anything else.

One day, something mystical happened. The frog woke up and saw a giant lump of hair near his home. Excitedly, the frog began grabbing clumps of the hair and stuck them on top of his head. In his zeal, he had covered the whole of his head along with his eyes. Despite the inability to see clearly, he was not deterred. He tried to jump as high as he could, but the hair made him too heavy to jump. He tried to swim across the pond, alas he almost drown as the hair got entangled with his legs.

A crow had been watching the whole episode that morning and asked why the frog was so hairy. The frog replied that it was his dream to feel his hair fly in the wind. The crow replied that the frog would have to move very fast to achieve that. Upon hearing this, the frog sighed and began thinking. Sensing an opportunity, the crow suggested to carry the frog into the air as the crow flew. The frog croaked in joy and agreed to the suggestion.

That afternoon, the frog prepared to go on a journey no frog has ever embarked upon. It was beyond his wildest dreams and he had to thank his luck that he chanced upon the hair and the helpful crow. The crow grabbed the frog in his talons and ascended. They flew high in the sky. They dive and rose rapidly. The frog felt his hair flying in the wind. He was so happy that tears of joy rolled down his cheeks.

From high above he could see everything. He could see his home. He could see the pond. He could see things that he could never dreamt of. There was, however, one thing he could see.
The crow began circling the pond and began to dive. The frog croaked in ecstasy as they dive at such a high speed. Just as they near the ground, the crow released his grip.

That evening the crow and his family enjoyed a great dinner.
